The Green and Good Store™ was started in August 2009 with the vision of “Enabling a Happier and Healthier Future for All.”

Essentially there are three key components of our vision that drive this store.

We believe that at the heart of this vision is the idea of ‘Sustainable Development'. A development, that ensures a pattern of resource use such that our needs are met in the immediate and indefinite future, while preserving the environment, the society and our traditional heritage.

And this is what we are trying to achieve through The Green and Good Store - to facilitate inclusive and sustainable growth for all by developing a market for “socially and environmentally responsible goods and services”. We are today India’s first and only web-store devoted entirely to promoting sustainable living.

We sell 2 types of goods. Goods that promote:

• The Green cause – promote environmental sustainability. These products are selected for their eco-friendliness during their entire lifetime, from manufacturing to disposal.

• The Good cause – promote inclusive and equitable economic development through livelihood programmes, promote social empowerment of underprivileged sections of society or protect and promote traditional knowledge in societies. The key feature of our product selection is the underlying “Good Cause” these products support. Some products support NGOs that provide education to children from economically less endowed families, support a home for destitute women or may be even help animal shelter raise money for treating wounded stray animals. Others are made by men and women in rural areas who are engaged in keeping alive some of the most ancient and threatened art forms.
